We are looking forward to the upcoming season and to welcoming new and returning players for some exciting changes. Beginning this 2025 season, we are joining the Ohio Gridiron Youth Football Conference, an association of youth football programs that includes Aurora, Copley, Highland, Hudson, Kenmore, Kent, Medina, Nordonia, North Royalton, Norwayne, Revere, Stow, Tallmadge, Twinsburg, and Wadsworth. This Conference and our opponents align well with our Middle School and High School programs, and include most of the OHSAA Suburban League Schools

About The Solon Saturns
Welcome to the Solon Saturns Youth Football Program
The Solon Saturns Youth Football Program is proud to offer tackle football opportunities for boys and girls in 2nd through 6th grade, providing a safe, supportive, and fun environment to learn and grow through the game of football.
Our mission is to teach the fundamentals of football while promoting teamwork, discipline, confidence, and sportsmanship. We focus on player development at every level — helping young athletes build skills on the field and character off the field. With certified coaches dedicated to age-appropriate instruction, the Saturns prioritize both safety and personal growth.
As part of the Gridiron League in Northeast Ohio, our athletes compete against local teams in a well-structured and positive atmosphere. Beyond the wins and losses, we’re here to create lasting memories, friendships, and a foundation for a lifelong love of the game.
Whether your child is new to football or returning for another season, the Solon Saturns is a place to learn, compete, and belong. We’re excited to welcome your family to our team! Go Saturns!

Divisions
There are two noteworthy changes with this Conference: each team is made up of players per grade (multiple grades are not combined on one team) and there is no weight restriction for players. (There is a weight cap to carry the ball). To enroll, players must be enrolled in the grade listed during the 2025/26 school year and must also be the age listed before November 1, 2025.

6th Grade (Varsity) Younger than 13. No weight cap, if weight exceeds 140, line only.

5th Grade (JV) Younger than 12. No weight cap, if weight exceeds 130, line only.

4th Grade (Sophomore) Younger than 11. No weight cap, if weight exceeds 115, line only.

3rd Grade (Freshman, 9 v. 9 team) Younger than 10. If weight exceeds 100, line only.

2nd Grade (Instructional, 7 on 7 team) Modified football. Younger than 9
Registration
Prior to May 31st cost $250. After May 31st cost 300. Max per Family $500.

SportsConnect will be used for registration.
This is our first year with the Ohio Gridiron Conference. Our new schedule includes teams in closer proximity to Solon. This is a community based program backed by the Cleveland Browns and USA Football with all coaches trained, certified and credentialed by USA Football guidelines. Rules and equipment exist to protect our players. Practices will begin at the end of July; more info and schedule to follow in early summer. We welcome parents who would like to assist with the program. We plan to have some clinics and events this summer.
